Welcome > What We Fund > Developmental Disabilities > Annual Developmental Disabilities Grant Guidelines Annual Developmental Disabilities Grant Guidelines*** The Developmental Disabilities Grant Cycle for 2010 is now closed. *** A developmental disability is defined as a disability that is manifested before a person reaches 22 years of age, which constitutes a substantial disability to the affected individual, and is attributable to mental retardation or related conditions. Such conditions include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism or other neurological conditions resulting in impairment of general intellectual functioning or adaptive behavior similar to that of a person with mental retardation.

Submitting a Letter of InquiryThe first step in applying for a grant is submitting a letter of inquiry not to exceed five pages. The Foundation accepts only one letter of inquiry per applicant.
To be considered for a grant in 2010, letters must be received by 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2010. E-mailed and faxed copies are not accepted.
Letters of inquiry must include the following:
1. General Information (approx. 1 page)
2. Project Rationale (approx. 1 page)
3. Project Description (approx. 2 pages)
4. Financial Information and Support (approx. 1 page)
5. Signature
Notification of InterestAll letters of inquiry are reviewed to determine if the Foundation wishes to request a grant application. Applicants will be notified by August 18, 2010 of the result of this review. A request for an application is not an indication of likely support. The deadline for grant applications, if requested, is September 30, 2010.
The Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals.
